Crown Simmons Housing has submitted plans to build 11 new apartments on the site of its former Head Office premises – Rosemary House on Portsmouth Road in Esher.
The plans, which would provide 9 one and two-bedroom apartments for shared ownership together with 2 apartments for outright market sale, were submitted to Elmbridge Borough Council in May. The proposals were designed by Ascot-based architects Create who started work on the project in late 2014.
Rosemary House had been the Association’s administrative base for many years but following the merger with Crown in 2014, it no longer met our purposes for a modern working environment. The site is approximately 0.5 miles from Esher town centre and is a short 10 minute walk from Esher station on the Waterloo line so it offers an excellent location for residential development.
In February we invited residents from neighbouring properties together with local businesses and ward councillors to view our proposals before they were formally submitted to the Council. The full planning application (reference 2016/1604) can be viewed via Elmbridge Borough Council’s website. A decision on the application is due at the end of September.
