Our scheme manager, Madeline Marshall, today celebrates 20 years of service with Crown Simmons Housing.
Madeline started work at The Fairings in Hersham on 1st September 1996. She originally applied for a role as a caretaker at our former sheltered housing scheme in Thames Ditton. Although she was not offered that job, our former housing manager Rosemary Elliott spotted something in Madeline and offered her the post at the Fairings. Madeline was delighted to take up the role and has been through a number of changes over the years at the popular scheme for older people.
Colleagues were delighted to celebrate with Madeline at our team meeting on 31st August. Paul Yates, chief executive said “Madeline has provided fantastic support for many of our older residents over the years and we’re really pleased that we have been able to give her a small token of our appreciation. The Fairings is not only Madeline’s home, but where she met and married her husband Joe”.
Speaking about the anniversary, Madeline said “When I was given the opportunity twenty years ago, my aim was to make the Fairings a wonderful place to live for residents with bright modern surroundings, a welcoming atmosphere and to always be helpful and I believe I have achieved this. I have enjoyed every moment.”
