Crown Simmons Housing officially part of Southern Housing Group

We are delighted to announce today, 1 April 2020, that Crown Simmons Housing is now part of Southern Housing Group. We will retain our name and identity and are looking to forward to working in partnership to improve services for our residents and provide new affordable housing.

This is a great next step for Crown Simmons Housing. Our primary focus for now is to combine our efforts with our new colleagues and support residents and our communities amidst the current pandemic.

Alan Townshend, Group Chief Executive said,
“We are delighted to welcome Crown Simmons to the Group. Our growth and corporate visions are closely aligned. We have got to know our new colleagues over the last few months and I can say with confidence that culturally and strategically we are a great fit. Crown Simmons is a well-respected housing association. We are looking forward to working together to provide a growing number of high quality homes for people in need and investing together in the Surrey communities we serve.”

The Group has a great track record of investing in homes and communities in Surrey and is planning to build over 1000 new homes in Surrey and Sussex over the next few years. The partnership with Crown Simmons is part of the Group’s growth strategy which will see the Group focus increasingly on providing more affordable homes in key strategic areas including Surrey.

Paul Yates, Crown Simmons Housing Chief Executive is delighted to be part of the latest step in the Crown Simmons history,
“We began our search for the right partner last year and after some careful consideration it became clear that Southern Housing Group were the best suited for us, for our residents and for our colleagues. This is a great next step for Crown Simmons Housing. We will have all the advantages of being part of a larger organisation with access to systems and teams that will bring efficiencies and investment in homes and services to our residents in Surrey.”

Crown Simmons will retain its name and identity and the good news has been communicated with residents. The feedback has been positive. The new partnership has already started to bring benefits for residents with Crown Simmons moving their repairs service to the Group’s contractor DW, this year. Already, satisfaction with the service has risen significantly.

The Group including Crown Simmons, is looking forward to working together to become completely integrated by the end of the year.
